Gabriel Manzon, M.P.T.

PT Owner

Professional Background:

Gabriel graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University/UMDNJ Master’s Program in 1998.  His sports medicine experience began with a graduate school clinical at the University of Michigan’s Medsport.  It was here where he worked closely with Division I collegiate athletes and realized his interest in sports medicine.

Following graduate school, Gabriel worked at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey in an inpatient and outpatient setting.  It was here where he gained his experience in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation. While at Kessler, he treated amputees, stroke, spinal cord, head injured patients as well postoperative orthopedic patients.

In 2002, Gabriel became the Director of Physical Therapy at Independent Physical Medicine and Rehab in New Jersey, in an outpatient setting.  Although he is a native of northern New Jersey, in 2004, he decided to make his move to New York City and became the Assistant Director at Paspa Physical Therapy.  While working at Paspa PT, he worked with all types of orthopedic patients, including NYC marathon runners, tri-athletes, Broadway performers and professional athletes.  He is working towards becoming an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist and takes frequent continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest treatment techniques and theories, including his McKenzie spine certification. His clinical interests include shoulder injuries, cervical spine injuries, lumbar spine injuries and treating amputee patients (prosthetic training).

In 2012, Gabriel transitioned to home physical therapy. The idea of having one-on-one treatment sessions with clients was a major factor in this decision. Providing individualized care to clients in the comfort of their homes was the ideal setting. After over 20 years of experience, Gabriel has found the perfect balance in his work. He is now able to provide “hands on” manual treatment, specialized exercise instruction and personalized care to all his clients.

Professional Background:

Kristen graduated summa cum laude from Long Island University’s Physical Therapy Master’s Program in 1995. While she spent some time working in both hospital and homecare settings, her passion was orthopedics and sports medicine. She began her career with a prominent sports physical therapy practice specializing in orthopedic injuries of both professional and amateur athletes. As an athlete her whole life, she gained an appreciation of the physical and mental components needed to successfully compete as well as recover from injury.

Kristen has spent her life playing many sports including softball, swimming, soccer, basketball, tennis, and golf. After college, Kristen played competitive rugby for over ten years lending to her experience with on and off-field sports injuries. As a mother of two athletes, she has spent many years coaching various sports. She remains an avid tennis and softball player, beach goer as well as any activity that takes her outdoors.

Her philosophy is to look carefully at the whole patient and treat the source of the dysfunction rather than just symptoms with the goal of getting her patients back to what they love. Kristen feels a strong rapport and communication with her patients is key to helping them gain confidence in reaching their goals.
